Safety
Lavender essential oil is one of the few that can be applied neat (undiluted) to the skin — e.g. to soothe burns or insect bites. For larger skin areas, dilute before use.
Pregnancy: Not recommended during pregnancy, but highly beneficial during labour — calms, balances and relaxes emotions. Back and lumbar massage with lavender oil (2% in carrier oil) is recommended in the week before birth. Do not use after epidural anaesthesia.
Children: Safe for babies and children from 2 years.
